A Tailored Response

Moonrise is a quiet floral studio that explores the essence of nature. Searching out new ways for people and nature to interact, and offering more ways to enjoy life, it creates a tailored response for everyone who cares about how they live, every feeling that deserves attention and every occasion worth looking forward to.

The chilled flower cabinet combines product display and sales, a work table and the reception desk, while also serving as the window that keeps the flowers fresh for longer.

With the mall's floor restricting what could be built, and much else uncertain, the design takes the black brick as its basic unit. Bricks bonded together form blocks of different sizes set freely on the floor, and the flowers are placed among them naturally, without contrived display.

Moonrise also has space for floristry classes, with seating woven into the plant displays. Customers can rest here, talk with the florists, wait for their bouquets and even take part in making them.

Fluorescent tubes are the main light source, filtered through stacked arrays of polycarbonate panels to imitate soft natural daylight and recreate the conditions for seeing flowers outdoors.

As a new, self-initiated brand with no fixed brief and no prescribed style, the project offered an open-ended possibility that pushed the team beyond its comfort zone.
